Why Pokemon's Wild Force Set Deserves More Attention: An Underappreciated Gem
The Pokemon TCG has seen numerous sets over the years, each with its unique charm and appeal. Among these is Scarlet & Violet's Wild Force flying under the radar, overshadowed by more prominent releases. Yet, this set, holds several hidden gems worthy of recognition. Here’s why the Wild Force set is underrated and deserves more attention from both collectors and players.
Some of the standouts of Wild Force is it includes a unique card featuring Gastly as an **AR**(Alternate Rare), which makes it noteworthy for collectors. Let's not forget Arbok also making its AR debut. To confirm whether this is the only AR printing of them, I made sure to go over to Bulbapedia and verify that both have not had the illustrator treatment. It's useful to check comprehensive Pokémon TCG databases, collector forums, or recent market trends. Sometimes, special releases or promotional cards can also feature exclusive printings.
The distinctive artworks boast vibrant, dynamic designs that capture the energy and excitement of each Pokemon. For collectors who appreciate artistic variety and thematic depth, Wild Force offers a refreshing change of pace. Such unique cards are often overlooked but can become highly valuable as their rarity is recognized over time. The set also features notable Pokémon and characters that might not be as prominently featured elsewhere, adding to its appeal. if the Gastly and Arbok from Wild Force are indeed the only AR printings, it adds a significant value and interest to the set for collectors and enthusiasts.
ACE SPEC's make their return last seen nearly a decade ago in the Black and White era. These powerhouse trainer cards are back. The style of the cards is amazing. Wild Force brings them back another reason to keep an eye on this set.

For the competitive players this set also has the card Buddy Buddy Poffin which is making its way around the scene because of its powerful search ability.
In summary, while the Wild Force set might currently be considered underrated compared to more iconic or mainstream sets...... Cough Cough Greninja ex, it has unique attributes and potential that could make it more valuable or appreciated over time. As for myself I plan on picking up sealed boxes when I can to add to my sealed collection. If you’re a fan of the series or the set’s themes, it might be worth exploring further. Not to forget Gengar is even in the set!
